How We Help Top Filipino Talents Go Global

Filipino talents are globally esteemed across several industry sectors, and many Filipinos have made significant international contributions. Little wonder then that OFW hiring is rising, with 2023 deployment expected to eclipse 2022’s 1.2 million. Drawing from my experience with a leading organization specializing in international placement, I can assert that Filipino talent is particularly sought after in various key sectors.

Which OFW Jobs are in Demand?

  • Healthcare: Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, a majority of OFWs worked abroad to become nurses, caregivers, and allied healthcare professionals. Countries like the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Singapore, and the Middle East have significant demand, while emerging destinations include Germany, Austria, Finland, and Japan. Filipino talents are renowned for their dedication, skills, and compassionate patient care.
  • Engineering, Construction, and Labor: Filipino talents in this sector are highly valued for their technical expertise and work ethic, especially in the Middle East and other parts of Asia. Some European countries are gradually opening doors to Filipino engineers and construction workers.
  • Hospitality and Tourism: Filipinos are prevalent in the hospitality sector, including hotels, resorts, and restaurants, excelling in customer service and significantly contributing to the global tourism industry.
  • Information Technology (IT) and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO): The Philippines boasts a rapidly growing IT and BPO industry, with many OFW jobs involving roles in software development, customer service, data entry, and IT support for global companies.
  • Manufacturing: Filipino talents exhibit high skill levels in various areas such as electronics, manufacturing, automotive assembly, textiles, and food processing.
  • Education: Filipino teachers and educators are esteemed for their strong English language skills and dedication to quality education. Many work in international schools and as language instructors abroad.

Integration: Strategies for Successful OFW Hiring

The Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) culture in the Philippines is a significant and integral aspect of our society. It has evolved over decades and is deeply interwoven with the socio-economic fabric of the country. Although Filipino talents are present worldwide, we believe that integration is pivotal for increased success in international placement, particularly in countries where the hiring of OFWs has commenced recently.

Alongside our partners, here are measures we implement to aid newly arrived Filipino talents in adjusting faster to their new environments:

  • Language Training: In non-English speaking countries, proficiency in the local language is vital for effective communication, cultural understanding, and professional advancement. It builds trust, facilitates problem-solving, and aids cultural integration. Filipino talents selected by our employers requiring new language acquisition are offered free language training, with minimal expenses for miscellaneous fees. This training is conducted in the Philippines – online for some employers and face-to-face for others.
  • Cultural Training: While undergoing foreign language training, selected workers are provided insights into the culture of their soon-to-be workplaces. This equips them with an understanding of cultural similarities and differences, thereby mitigating the impact of culture shock upon entering their new workplaces.
  • Adaptation Courses: In certain instances, Filipino talents undergo adaptation courses on-site to learn the professional practices specific to their respective professions in the receiving country.

Empowering Filipino Talent: Bridging Worlds for Seamless Integration and Global Impact

Filipino talents are highly sought after and valued in numerous sectors globally, showcasing their dedication, expertise, and adaptability. Their contributions are vast and diverse, but successful integration into new environments remains pivotal.

Through collaborative efforts with our partners, we endeavor to facilitate a seamless transition for newly arrived Filipino talents, fostering effective communication, cultural understanding, and professional growth. By nurturing these strategies, we aim to ensure that the remarkable skills and capabilities of Filipino talents continue to make significant impacts across the world while harmoniously adapting to new horizons.
