No Such Thing? The Easiest Job in the Philippines

Equity research analyst, quality control and project execution specialist, compliance manager — these are just a few of the jobs that are classified as “easy” on a job site. One requires checking investment ideas and analyzing financial positions of companies. Another calls for tracking and investigating task outputs and process improvement and the other demands maintaining good public relations and keeping up to date with regulatory compliance matters. Do these tasks sound easy to you?

“Easy” is subjective, and depending on what makes you passionate about your job, the easiest job in the Philippines may not be easy.  What is an “easy job” anyway? Does it even exist? And more to the point, are there easy jobs that pay well?

Which is the Simplest Job?

People who have a knack for engaging well with different people may find customer service a relaxing, rewarding job whereas people with limited social skills will find this simple job laborious. At the other end of the spectrum, a complicated profession involving data and analysis could be a cinch and even enjoyable for people who are a natural at numbers and complex topics. Easy work, as you can see, depends on your preference not just your background.

“Easy” could mean that a job is simple enough it doesn’t require training. You could come in on your first day, get a general direction, and be prepared to carry out your tasks adequately. An “easy job” could also mean you can do it in your sleep; no stress at all when you’re at work because you enjoy what you do. The phrase, “Find what you love and you’ll never have to work a day in your life” would be appropriate to describe your job if you feel that way about it.

Of course, we could still narrow down your options for a career with the following examples of the easiest jobs in the Philippines:

Data Entry

All you have to do is make sure all the data you enter is correct, and that you type full tilt.

Tutor

If you’re an academic wonder and something of a subject matter expert, tutoring someone might be a simple job for you.

Virtual Assistant

Administrative work has evolved with some businesses and lone entrepreneurs hiring assistants to arrange appointments, book tickets and flights, and make calls — all from the comfort of the assistant’s home.

Transcriber

Some companies need transcription of documents, and if you have a good ear and can type with accuracy, this line of work could be easy enough.

Massage Therapist

You will require training and certification to get the best jobs as a masseuse or masseur. But this “simple” job will give flexibility with your schedule; unless you work in a spa or resort, you could be your own boss.

House Painter

Painting can be relaxing, so long as you’re not doing a rush job. It’s an easy enough job, except you will likely only make minimum wage in the Philippines.

The trouble with some simple jobs is that they’re not going to pay you enough to meet your financial needs.

What’s the Easiest Job that Pays Well?

In most cases, high-paying jobs are typically complicated and likely stressful. The idea is that the higher you are in the income bracket, more work and greater expectations follow. But does this mean you’re “doomed” to a low salary if you prefer an easy job for a career?

Not necessarily.

Most easy jobs that pay well in the Philippines are connected to online or virtual work. If you’re something of a social media “genius,” with a head for analytics and strategy, you could strive for a career in social media management. Some companies offer a pay range of P30,000 to P105,000 for social media managers. It’s a line of work you may find simple enough to do.

Although not as competitive as social media management, video game testing could also be a simple job if you live and breathe video games. On average, game testers could earn P22,170 a month; bigger companies looking for more credentials may pay more. Some outsourcing services specializing in the IT industry and startup video gaming companies hire QA testers. These jobs could be on a per project basis or on a permanent set up. What would you have to do? Simple: find bugs, offer relevant feedback, and test for functionality, compatibility, and the like.

If you’re not a gamer but love animals, maybe you could do a stint as a pet groomer. Some veterinary clinics and pet grooming services may not even require previous experience. But you may only make about P22,000 a month. The beauty of this simple job is that it may even be therapeutic, so you’re not likely to experience stress “at the office.”

Which Work is Best in the Philippines?

Find what you like and you’ll never have to work a day in your life. The best job is the one that makes you want to get up every morning and get revved up for work. You look forward to going to the office and seeing your coworkers, or sit at your desk in your home office all day. You’re not looking at the clock to see if it’s quitting time. And you’re certainly not dreading Mondays.

A job becomes easy when you find meaning in what you do; that your tasks contribute to a greater good. Maybe that job involves data or just helping people find solutions to their problems. Maybe the tasks are repetitive but in a good way (i.e., meditative). Maybe you’re so good at what you do that your expertise commands a high salary — or you could turn your expertise into a business instead of get paid as an employee.

The bottom line easy jobs that pay good money do exist. You just have to find them.
