“John Clements’ journey to Taiwan unfolded like a captivating chapter in our company’s story. The dichotomy of Taiwan’s culture, a harmonious blend of modernity inspired by the Japanese occupation and deeply rooted traditional practices, was a canvas that sparked curiosity. Beyond the agenda of the board meeting by the JC leadership team lay a mission to decode the secrets of Taiwan’s success – not just in economic figures but in the seamless fusion of progress and heritage.

Accompanying us were the fruits of our deliberate investment in the next generation of leaders. This team, meticulously crafted through mentorship, coaching, training, and action learning projects, found themselves amidst the vibrant tapestry of Taiwan. As they navigated through the bustling streets and absorbed the economic prowess evident in the millions of dollars in GDP and FDI, it was more than a business excursion. It was a narrative of leadership evolution, where the dynamic landscape of Taiwan became the backdrop for cultivating critical thinking, adaptability, and the agility needed for leadership in the ever-changing business terrain.” – Grace C. Sorongon

From the intricate history of the island, marked by Dutch colonization to Japanese rule, and its remarkable economic transformation in the ‘Taiwan Miracle,’ each chapter revealed a resilient spirit. The National Palace Museum unfolded centuries of imperial treasures, and the vibrant streets of Raohe Night Market offered a feast for the senses. Discovering the delicate artistry of Din Tai Fung’s Xiao Long Bao and immersing ourselves in the democratic legacy and breathtaking landscapes underscored Taiwan’s multifaceted allure. “My recent visit to Taiwan was a unique and unforgettable experience, as I had the pleasure of exploring this vibrant country for the second time with my John Clements colleagues, marking the beginning of our 50th anniversary celebration. Taiwan never fails to amaze me with its enticing blend of delectable cuisine, breathtaking natural landscapes, and the warm hospitality of the people. However, what struck me most was the unwavering resilience of the country. Despite facing numerous challenges, it rises above adversities and stands as a beacon of progress. I wish the same for our country.” – Ma. Tracy F. Piamonte

“Visiting Taiwan was a transformative experience that underscored the significance of maintaining good health through wholesome eating habits. Throughout our journey, we indulged in a plethora of non-oily delicacies, including steamed, boiled, and fresh dishes. These not only tantalized our taste buds but also emphasized the country’s commitment to healthy living. The abundance of magnificent, oversized fruits served as a testament to Taiwan’s dedication to providing nutritious options. Moreover, the trip shed light on the pivotal role of discipline in fostering progress, exemplified by Taiwan’s meticulous preservation of its natural landscape. From lush mountainsides to verdant city parks, Taiwan seamlessly integrates urbanization with its breathtaking forests, showcasing a harmonious coexistence between man-made structures and the environment. Remarkably, our encounters with the locals revealed a population that ages gracefully, attributable in part to Taiwan’s promotion of senior-friendly parks, symbolizing a society that cherishes well-being across all generations.” – Neil Binalla
