JCCI December Sales Conference: An Inca Civilization Christmas

John Clements Consultants, Inc. CEO Carol Dominguez couldn’t bring her office and its staff with her on her South American odyssey, but she made sure to bring back a little bit of South America to her office. For the final Sales Conference of 2022, John Clements had a very unique theme for the holiday season. Still cozy, still colorful, but there wasn’t a Santa hat in sight. Inspired by her recent trip to Ecuador and Peru, the event had an Inca Civilization motif.

The heads of this sales conference encouraged attendees to come with clothes reminiscent of traditional Inca cultural dress. What surprised many staff members was how despite their differences in location and climate, textile work between Incan and Filipino shawls, ponchos, and the like, were quite similar. These articles of clothing were pleasing to the touch, durable in the face of challenging environments, and bedazzled in vibrant tones and hues.  In this way, the sales conference emphasized how there were commonalities between these ethnicities outside of their respective altercations with Spanish colonization.

Guest speakers Stella Schapero and Alexandra Lamb were invited to regale the office about their own South American encounters with the Incas and other ethnicities found in the continent. They spoke about the places they went to, the people they met, and the sublime sights they saw. The two of them had even gone to many of the locations Ms. Carol Dominguez had, so the trio had plenty to talk about and even more to share.

Based on what they just learned and what they already knew about Incan civilization, attendees were challenged with some trivia questions about the subject. Prizes were given out to those who gave correct answers. However, everyone walked away from this portion with a bit more knowledge on a place and culture that doesn’t crop up as much as it should in the public conscience; that’s a gift you can’t put a price on. Did you know that while they’re often associated with the Mayans and Aztecs, the Incas aren’t Mesoamerican due to being located near the Andes? Well, now you do!

As always, the top performers for the last month were called upon and rewarded for their excellence. The winners of the various categories are as follows:

Top Sales Consultant for November – Alina Manaig

Top Production Consultant for November – Breynan Carlo Apuya

Millionaires’ Club Awardees

ALINA MANAIG
TRACY PIAMONTE
ROGER SANTOS
CHESKA GARDAYA
EDGAR BELTRAN
DAN NAPA
PATRICK DAYAO
RYAN RODRIGUEZ
RACHELLE DE LEON
BREYNAN APUYA

To cap off this event, it was time for those in attendance to exchange gifts. Everyone who signed up for the event was asked to bring a modest yet tasteful unisex gift. Though these presents were only about Php200 in value, the act of giving and receiving on this day was a wonderful preview to Christmas Eve itself, which was only a week away.

John Clements has had many interesting themes for its Sales Conferences, from sustainability to Yoga, from mental wellness to Incan civilization. 2023 is bound to have even more intriguing meet-ups, so keep your eyes on The Lookingglass and we’ll see you next year!
