3 Essential Job-Hunting Tips in 2022

The COVID-19 pandemic has been with us for more than two years. It has been quite an experience for all of us, being in a situation where things have limitations and restraints. Companies shut down, laid off employees, or even ceased operations permanently. That made job hunting very difficult. Fortunately, we are now moving towards the new normal. Companies are slowly but surely regaining their losses and recovering from the impact of the dreaded virus.  John Clements Consultants, Inc. We understand that if you are searching for a job, it can feel like the entire world is against you. That is why we created this guide to help make your life easier. So, let’s get started!

Here are our essential tips for job hunting in 2022:

Know the difference between your Curriculum Vitae (CV) and Resume

People often mistake curriculum vitae and resume as the same thing. A Curriculum Vitae (CV) consists of detailed information and an outline of your professional and personal information. A resume, on the other hand, is a concise one-page summary of your professional and personal information. With your CV and resume ready, job application gets easier. A well-written resumegarners more interviews. Be sure to submit it in the format the company requires– it will make everyone’s lives easier!

Proper Interview Ethics: dress professionally and be on time

Employers are looking for a lot of things when they hire someone: a good work ethic, good communication skills, and good work history are all important. But there are other qualities that employers want to see in their employees as well. Here is where your clothing and manners come into play!

Job interviews are now being conducted virtually. Some companies realized how tough it is to commute from one area to another and have turned to virtual meetings and interviews instead. However, this does not mean that one is no longer required to dress professionally and be on time. Being able to log in and join the meeting link fifteen minutes before the interview will help you compose yourself to answer the questions well. Also, dressing professionally will leave a good impression on the interviewer. A good rule to remember here is to dress the same as you would for an in-person interview.

Keep your communication lines open: email and mobile

Keep your communication lines open and always expect an update about your application. It is fine to send follow-throughs as it shows your interest in the job. Sending a follow-up email or SMS will also let you know where you stand and keep track of the application progress.

Landing a job has never been easy for someone who is unprepared. It is best for jobseekers to always be ready anytime, anywhere. Don’t forget to keep your pace, and always be positive. Good luck in your job hunting!
