Breaking
Barriers:
John
Clements Holds 2nd Annual Sales & Production Conference
by Paul Catiang
On July 8 and 9, 2005, Fontana Leisure Park in Clark Field Pampanga
hosted the second Annual Sales and Production Conference of John
Clements Consultants Inc., a much-anticipated event in the company’s
calendars. With the theme, ‘Breaking Barriers’, the
conference was the venue for looking over the past year’s
achievements and considering new strategies in establishing partnerships.
The presentations opened with company President
Carol Dominguez and her stories about her friends and clients, with
a few yoga positions to help the participants wake up and have a
sense of breaking barriers in the mind and body. This was followed
by Martin de Castro and his talk about outperforming oneself. After
lunch, Cesar A. Averia, President and CEO of EDI Staffbuilders,
spoke of his company's achievements in the international front,
as they were the only Philippine representative to the International
Labour Organization and recently participated in its Merchants of
Labour dialog in Geneva. The day wound down with Financial Controller
Neil Binalla’s presentation of the previous year’s figures
with respect to the goals set back then. Nilo Cruz of Hewlett-Packard
then reviewed indispensable customer-care techniques with his talk
on successful IT vendors.
The evening’s program took on a more swashbuckling,
exotic air as everyone dressed up as pirates and gypsies as part
of the festivities. Awards and prizes were given out, including
recognizing Professional Staffers Alina Manaig as Sales Consultant
of the Year and Frida Torres as Recruitment Consultant of the Year
for their efforts.
Day Two started off with Dino Gil’s presentation
on non-traditional marketing approaches, one that encourages techniques
never before used in any given industry. Jovi Zalamea’s talk
on strategic relationship building set the right mood for the following
year with an admonition to establish and invest in the right clients.
With the past year assessed and the batteries recharged,
new goals are now set and new and bigger challenges await on the
horizon.
