The Philippines Redux II: Opportunities Back home for Filipino Expatriates
by Paul Catiang

On October 3, 2006, PT John Clements Consultants Indonesia hosted a business forum at the Mandarin Oriental Jakarta, which was attended by more than 25 Filipino expatriates working for several multinational companies and large local conglomerates. Representing the telecommunications and finance industries, these executives braved the heavy traffic to revisit the new opportunities that have arisen in the Philippines in their absence.

Ambassador Shulan Primavera, the Philippine Ambassador to Indonesia, opened the event and remarked on how significant outsourcing has become in the Philippines, and how it continues to grow.

Grace Sorongon, Vice President and Deputy President Director of PT John Clements, presented the highlights of the growth of the BPO, Call Center and Outsourcing industry in the Philippines. This presentation gave special mention to the benefits of taking part in the growth of this industry, and that working back home in the Philippines has become more rewarding in recent years.

The Philippines Redux is a John Clements business forum designed to keep Filipinos abroad appraised and updated on the new opportunities that are constantly becoming available in the Philippines.
