CAGAYAN DE ORO AND NORTHERN MINDANAO
2
Cagayan de Oro: Summary
  • Cagayan de Oro offers an attractive labor pool for BPO and call center operations
    • Recent college graduates have tested as having an above average command of the English language
    • Several well-regarded colleges are producing strong candidates
    • The current absence of a call center or BPO operation in Cagayan de Oro means the area labor pool is largely untapped by the call center/BPO industry; the city has wide open recruitment potential
    • Cagayan de Oro is a hub for five surrounding provinces having a total population of three-and-a-half million people, and BPO operations there would have reasonable potential for scaling up
    • The area offers nearly 16,000 college graduates annually (approximately 6,000 from Cagayan de Oro (CDO) itself and another 9,7000 from colleges within a three hour drive of CDO)
