Partner of
the Month:
For
the month of February, RCM Health Care Services, a premier international
recruiter of Health Care Professionals for all major hospitals,
long-term care facilities, clinics and schools in New York, New
Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Washington, DC, held several
job fairs in hotels all over the Philippines.
After the first job fair at the New World Renaissance
Hotel on February 12, 2006, Mike Saks, Evan Messer, Marc Chafetz,
and Mark Punzalan of RCM Health Care Services and immigration Atty.
Ron Nair joined John Clements Consultants for dinner at a local
Italian restaurant. Excitement suffused the group at the possibilities
of recruiting several Filipino health care professionals to fill
the requirements of RCM’s many clients in the US.
“We prefer getting Filipino health care workers
because most, if not all of them have been considered to have good
work ethics and a good sense of loyalty,” began Evan Messer.
“We have also found that they have been trained in American
health care standards and equipment, or are at least familiar with
similar standards.” This ensures a shorter adjustment and
training period, where the newly hired health care professionals
get acquainted with the local equipment, practices and culture.
Mr. Messer explains, “Adjustment isn’t as long, but
it is as long as they need. We’ve learned to have them shadow
more veteran Filipinos to speed up the adjustment process.”
The company also recruits from other countries,
such as Russia, Poland, Jamaica, Nigeria, India and many more, but
never as large a number as what they recruit from the Philippines.
“The biggest thing is the work ethic and the loyalty,”
explained Mike Saks. “Over 50 percent of our Filipino recruits
have stayed with their employers for over 20 years. I wouldn’t
invest anywhere else.”
RCM Health Care Services started partnering with
John Clements Consultants in 2003 after meeting with Carol Dominguez,
the president and CEO. This year, they decided to come to the Philippines
for the first time. “We hope this visit will be the first
of many,” said Mr. Messer. “The people have been warm,
inviting, and gracious. We want to continue the process of helping
Filipino health care professionals to get to the US.”
In partnership with John Clements Consultants,
RCM Health Care Services sponsored job fairs in Makati, Iloilo,
Cebu, Davao and Baguio all throughout February.
