Meet an Insider: Carol Uy

Mystery Shopping….within the premises of John Clements Consultants, Inc (JCCI), executives and staff would immediately associate these words to Ms. Carolyn C. Uy.

Mystery Shopping? Yes, because Carol Uy is the Group Managing Consultant of Shop‘n Chek Philippines, a division of John Clements Consultants, Inc. Shop’n Chek (S’nC) is a mystery shopping customer service measurement provider. A member of Shop‘n Chek Worldwide, it offers service evaluations and competitor shopping programs.

Banks, Quick Serve Restaurants (QSRs), Automobile and Tire Manufacturing/Dealership, Hardware & Retail. Yes, these are just some categories which have availed of the services of Shop’n Chek and which clients have nothing but high praises for Carol. And why not? Their increased number of clientele was attributed to the improved and efficient service they provide their customers, which is the result of Carol’s and the Shop’n Chek team’s hard work, research and design programs.

Let’s get to know Carol more.

A true-blooded Manileña, Carolyn Cabangon Uy is a BS Mathematics graduate of University of the Philippines at Los Baños. Though busy as a bee with her numerous projects, she still finds time to finish her graduate studies. “I believe that knowledge is power”. Thus, Carol is currently enrolled at Ateneo Graduate School of Business where she’s on her last tri-semester taking up Masters in Business Administration.

Carol has been with the company for 11 years. She joined John Clements in late 1993 under Staffbuilders Asia (SBA) where she rose from the ranks. Her promotion was definitely not a sum of mathematical equation one plus one (remember…she’s a BS Mathematics graduate). The factors are her dedication and commitment to her job. She loves what she’s doing and spends most of her time perfecting her selling skills. She knows her efforts would one day earn her a shot in the corporate ladder, and it paid off. Management saw her potential and made her Supervising Consultant for SBA in 1997. She held the same position for three years and further proved her worth. In 2000 she was promoted to Managing Consultant for S’nC and eventually the Group Managing Consultant for the same division in 2003 to present.
