Campus Tour
by Dawnie Ray J. Maputi
Establishing partnerships with various colleges
and universities within and outside Metro Manila is one of the objectives
of the recently launched JCCI Campus Tour. Aside from the usual
job fairs in malls and different municipalities around the archipelago,
John Clements Consultants has decided to focus on the academe. Initiated
during the first week of January 2005, the campus tour consists
of job fairs and career seminars for graduating college students.
The main feature of the Campus Tour is the One-Stop-Shop
recruitment process, which brings the jobs to the students in their
very own colleges and universities. Another feature is the Career
Seminar, in which topics like Resume Writing, Job Interview Tips,
Career Management, and 1001 Jobs are discussed.
Vice President/Managing Director of the Professional
Staffers Division Grace C. Sorongon and Coordinator for School Activities
Lea Santos started planning the Campus Tour in December of last
year. “We want to identify good talents and to have a good
relationship with the schools,” says Ms. Sorongon.
“This is our way of helping graduating students
become aware of the different job openings that John Clements can
offer to them,” adds Lea Santos.
Among the schools that have been visited since
the tour’s kick-start are: Asia Pacific College, University
of the East Manila; University of Makati; Philippine School of Business
and Arts; Far Eastern University; East Asia College; St. Paul University
Manila; La Consolacion College; College of the Holy Spirit; University
of the East Caloocan; San Sebastian College; Emilio Aguinaldo College;
De La Salle University; Polytechnic University of the Philippines;
Silliman University; Negros Oriental State University; Arellano
University; Lyceum of Batangas and Technological Institute of the
Philippines, STI branches in Makati, Cubao and Cavite..
John Clements is looking forward to visiting even
more schools by the end of 2005. “We want to forge alliances
and sustain relationships by becoming actively involved in various
student activities,” says Ms. Sorongon. So expect to hear
more from the Campus Tour section!
