Processing Association of the Philippines (BPA/P)
The Business Processing Association of the Philippines
(BPA/P), a private-sector-led organization representing sectors
of the IT & IT-enabled services industry in the country, serves
as the one-stop information and advocacy gateway for the country’s
key IT-enabled services sectors of Contact Centers, Business Process
Outsourcing, Medical and Legal Transcription, Software Applications,
Development and Maintenance, Animation, Engineering Services, and
other allied support services.
BPA/P, a merger of the former Contact Federation
Philippines and Outsource Philippines, was formulated last July
14, 2004 to solidify the efforts in promoting the Philippines as
a destination of choice for business process outsourcing. Our aim
is to serve our members and the country by helping to establish
the Philippines as a recognized worldwide leader in the ITES/BPO
industry and to ensure the industry’s continued growth and
competitiveness. We work with our members in representing the industry’s
needs in areas such as offshore marketing, education and training,
security and privacy, legislation and public policy, among others.
Membership in BPA/P is restricted to companies
and organizations engaged in the ITES-BPO outsourcing industry,
either as providers to service to overseas clients, or as product-service
providers to the local industry. We currently represent 100 members
and growing, and have 4 allied association members, namely the Contact
Center Association of the Philippines (CCAP), Philippine Software
Industry Association (PSIA), Medical Transcription Association Industry
(MTIAPI), and the Animation Council of the Philippines (ACPI).
BPA/P is closely working with the different government
agencies such as DTI, BOI, CITEM, and CICT to ensure the continued
development and growth of the industry. We have partnered in several
events and programs to cater to the needs and requirements of the
ITES industry, such as the eServices-Academe Summit last June in
order to bridge the gap between the industries requirements and
the academe’s curriculum; joined in several local missions
such as e-Services conferences, National Job Fairs, Cebu ICT Conference
and Expo and also participated in several International Trade Missions
like ICCM and Outsource World Conferences since 2001, Outsource
World New York, and the most recent Outsource World London 2005.
BPA/P has several projects in progress like the
partnership with the University of Makati to develop a Premier Training
Center for the ITES industry, which will start with the Animation
industry that will provide scholarship programs to students from
the different regions of the country. BPA/P has also partnered with
the European IT Service Center (EITSC) and Trestle Group to do a
survey-study for the possible matching between the Philippine and
the European Market. We also have fund raising events like the upcoming
1st BPA/P Golf Tournament on September 12, 2005 to generate funds
for the planned BPA/P congress next year.
These are some of our projects and events. For
more information regarding the association, please visit our website
at www.bpap.org. Please let us
know if you have any comments or questions, it is our job and pleasure
to be off service for you. As the Asia Pacific College celebrates
their 5th IT Anniversary Event would say, “I.T. ALL YOU CAN.”
