PGMA Inaugurates Newest Player in RP's BPO Industry

President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo inaugurated today the newest player in the growing business process outsourcing (BPO) industry in the country – Genpact Business Services and Technology Center.

Joining the President in the simple inauguration ceremonies at the company’s head office at the North Cyberzone in Alabang, Muntinlupa City were officials and staff of the company led by its senior vice president Rakesh Chopra and vice president Ma. Cecilia Ampeloquio.

The President also led in launching the Genpact Philippines logo by completing the triangular logo and placing the same at the entrance of the company’s 5th floor office.

After the ceremony, the President was ushered into one of the company’s rooms where she held a video conference with Genpact chief executive officer (CEO) Pramod Bhasin, who is in the United States. The company’s global and local plans were discussed during the conference.

After the conference, the President was given a tour of the company’s facilities.

Genpact is a 5,400-square meter facility that employs 200 professionals in the Alabang suburb of Manila who are trained to provide finance and accounting services, customer service support, collection and IT (information technology) services to the company’s increasing roster of global clients.

Since it was established in 1997, the company has been driving process improvements to help enterprises improve their revenue, cash, costs, margins, speed, and customer relations globally.

Operating in eight countries, Genpact combines strong business and domain knowledge with Six Sigma and Lead quality methods to deliver important year-over-year cost and productivity gains to customers.

Its Philippines operations center, established in July 2006, is a world-class center with state-of-the-art IT infrastructure that provides collection services to clients in the US.
